May 15, 2015 – ROSEMOUNT, Minn. — THEAQ Publishing announced the release of children’s book Not Everyone Likes Peas by Diana Lee Sherman with illustrations by Rebecca Michael Zeissler.
This book introduces us to Abigail, a kindergartner who loves peas. This engaging story reaffirms at a young age that it is okay for each of us to be unique.
About the Author
Diana Lee Sherman is an actress, mother, grandmother, physical therapist assistant, youth volunteer and costume designer. She holds an Associate Degree of Science from Southeastern Illinois College, as well as, an Associate Degree of Applied Science from Southern Illinois University. She currently resides in the vicinity of Mount Vernon, Illinois.
Diana loves working with children. One of her all-time favorite positions was working as a summer camp counselor. In her spare time, she volunteers with youth in the local drama club, where she shares her passion for the theatre arts; in addition, she coaches a middle school speech team. These volunteer opportunities enable her to share her stage skills with youth while gaining insight and inspiration for her writing.
About the Illustrator
Rebecca Michael Zeissler studied art and design at Eastern Illinois University, and has been an illustrator for more than 25 years. Working primarily with pen and ink, Michael Zeissler has expanded her materials to include watercolor washes, oils and colored pencil.
Michael Zeissler’s work has been widely published in newspapers and magazines, with the primary focus being children’s publications, such as “Chicago Parent Magazine,” for which her artwork won the 1994 Best Cover Illustration award from Parenting Publications of America.
