Brandt R. Schubbe is an author and poet who currently works for a non-profit organization that is dedicated to serving victims of human trafficking.
He has had poems published in the literary magazine Haute Dish and articles in The Metropolitan newspaper. In 2013, he published a book of poems called Poems from the Inner Spark. As a contributor to the Minneapolis art scene, Schubbe wrote, directed, and produced a play called The Pat Ryan Effect, which was shown at the Minneapolis Fringe Festival. He has also participated in open book workshops as a member of the Playwrights' Center in Minneapolis.
Along with a Bachelor degree in Criminal Justice from Brown College, Schubbe studied creative writing at Metropolitan State University where he earned a second Bachelor degree in Professional Writing.
He believes that writing isn’t just sitting in a dark room and producing work, but reaching out to fellow artists and becoming part of the work being done. He attends plays, poetry readings, and book signings, as a part of the local writing community.
